The most superbowlific:
Kia - Dream Car
This spot could have been lame, but the way it came together at the end really sold me. It is a bit much for everyday, I mean giant sub sandwiches and explosive kickboxing, but for the superbowl it was spot on. It would have been easy to have the car jump through a flaming hoop, but to break into his wife’s dream and drive off together – good stuff.
Best life after the Superbowl Ad:
Chevy - Happy Grad
Who doesn’t want a new car for graduation? Simple and clean. Another winner in my book, AND they can use it after the event without looking out of place.
Best Nostaligic Superbowl ad:
VW - The dog strikes back
It’s hard to trump the Vader spot from last year, but I think this is a solid effort for VW. Without the pub scene at the end it’s still a good spot, but in context of the Superbowl it works even better. I hope they cut the end and run it with just the dog for a while.
